Jhump & Associates See Growing Demand for Equipment, Human Capital and Business Development

The 2012 Offshore Technology Conference at Reliant Park in Houston is celebrating a 30-year high in attendance with 89,400 people attending the show. OTC officials say the numbers were up 14% over 2011 and mark the third highest in show history. One attendee, Jhump & Associates founder and president Jerry Humphrey says the high attendance only proves that the industry is on the upswing but facing several challenges, “It’s no secret the oil industry is heading in the right direction and that will present many operational challenges for our colleagues.”

In a release on the OTC website, conference chairman Steve Balint echoed Humphrey’s opinion, “The industry is on the rise and the challenges are ahead, making it more important than ever to collaborate and share best practices,” Balint added, “In terms of strength of the technical sessions and technology on display, OTC reached a record-breaking number of people.”

Humphrey says exploration and drilling are ramping up and companies are scrambling to meet the demand of getting the right people, the right teams and the right resources in place. That’s where he says his company shines, “We’re drilling people. Our team has been proven in the field and we understand the business and the culture. That gives us a competitive advantage when it comes to business development and human capitol.”

Jhump has proven itself as a leader in finding solutions for its oil industry clients. In addition to finding the right people to handle the job, Jhump has had abundant success in working with companies in liquidating surplus equipment. “Finding oil and gas is a process that uses a bunch of equipment,” Humphrey said. “When you use that much equipment, there’s going to come a time when you don’t need it anymore or something breaks down and you need a part. That’s where we come in.”

Jhump has watched its surplus equipment sales soar over the past few years, including a 117% rise since last year. Humphrey says their success can be attributed to their process of evaluating the goods with a fair price, connecting the right buyers and sellers and the addition of Equipstream.com, a new online surplus marketplace. “We wanted to make the process of finding, listing and buying equipment simple,” Humphrey said. “Equipstream.com allows us to do that. Now anyone can visit our site, see our goods and make a purchase with the click of a mouse.”

Humphrey was proud to tell this year’s OTC visitors all about Jhump’s success and show them the benefits of using Equipstream.com. The company had their largest presence ever at the conference. “Our booth was packed with clients and curious visitors daily,” he said. “While we’ve been around for a few years, this year marks a  new beginning for us. Our philosophy hasn’t changed, but our company has grown. And most importantly, people are learning more about Jhump. And they’re learning when it comes to the services we provide, we do what we say we’re going to do. And most of the time, we outperform our projections.”

Cove Reports 2nd Successful Flow Test of Well in Offshore Mozambique

blog-img-header1

The second test of the Barquentine-1 well flowed gas at an equipment constrained rate of approximately 100 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d), with minimal pressure drawdown, targeting a deeper Oligocene sand formation than previously tested Barquentine-2 in March. In an announcement on the company’s website, Cove Energy provided the results of the well at the northern end of the Prosperidade gas complex in the Rovuma Basin Area 1 block, Offshore Mozambique (“Area 1 Rovuma Offshore”).

Highlights of the results include:

• Equipment constrained test flowed gas at rate of approximately 100 MMcf/d.

• Test data supports potential unconstrained flow rates up to 200 MMcf/d.

• Results confirm requirements for fewer development wells than originally planned.

• Flow rates demonstrate a high permeability reservoir

Cove Energy CEO John Craven said, “I am very pleased to announce the continued value  being added to the Prosperidade gas complex with the second successful gas flow test from the Barquentine-1 well in Area 1 Rovuma Offshore, re-iterating the high quality gas reservoirs from this discovery. We look forward to continuing success from the Prosperidade gas complex.”

es-jhump-pr

A rebounding domestic oil and gas industry has sparked growth for many local companies. Exploration, drilling and production is on the rise and with the boost, Jhump & Associates has ramped up its operations. In the last month, the Texas-based oil and gas solutions provider has moved to a new 30-acre facility, seen its surplus equipment year to year sales grow 117% and has launched Equipsteam.com, a new online oil and gas surplus equipment marketplace.

“We’re excited for our industry colleagues who are back on track,” said Jhump founder and president Jerry Humphrey. “This means they’re looking to hire more people, set up new operations and use a bunch of equipment. And we’re here to tailor our services around their needs and their schedule.”

For the past 6 years, Humphrey and Jhump have established a foothold in the industry providing solutions for everything from human capital to business development. But over the past few years, the company has grown exponentially in the area of surplus equipment liquidation and sourcing.  In 2010, Jhump’s sales grew 300% and in 2011, the company saw another 117% growth.

“Our customers are learning that we do what we say we’re going to do.” Humphrey said. “Our approach is simple. Give us your surplus equipment and we will sell it. And in most cases, we’re going to exceed your expectations.”

Humphrey plans on showing off the company to more people than ever this year at the 2012 Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, Texas. “After expanding our operations this year, it only made sense to increase our presence at the OTC,” Humphrey added. “We’ve got a lot to talk about this year and we’re looking forward to meeting with our customers face to face, thanking them for their business…and seeing what other services we can offer for them!”

es-houston-contract

American Petro-Hunter, Inc. has announced that the SOM-1H horizontal well at the company’s South Oklahoma Project has reached total depth (TD) after successfully drilling 2,500+-foot lateral arm into the Mississippi Lime reservoir.

In an announcement on the company’s website, American Petro-Hunter, Inc. president Robert McIntosh said “It is our first drilling venture on this lease block and is a key to overall development plans for the entire project. The success of this well increases the potential for numerous additional wells. The immediate plan will be to evaluate the production for a period of 60 to 90 days prior to drilling the next well. We feel this is a prudent step for the first well in a new location. We have positive early indicators that support an initial estimate that results have met our expectations and which suggest that planning of additional wells will begin immediately.”

Breitling Oil and Gas Announces Spud of Exploratory Well

The first in a possible six horizontal well drilling program on Brietling Oil and Gas Corporation’s leased acreage in Oklahoma has spud, the company has announced. The Breitling-Warrior #1H is located in Pottawatomie County, OK.

In an announcement on the company’s website, Breitling said the initial test well will be drilled horizontally in the Hunton Chimney Hill and will have a total vertical depth of 4,000 feet and a total measured depth of 6,300 feet. Management anticipates the well will reach total depth in 17 days.

“New horizontal drilling techniques have allowed the Chimney Hill to become a profitable reservoir target since horizontal drilling allows the well bore to cross multiple fractures within the reservoir thereby increasing recoverable reserves,” said Breitling CEO Chris Faulkner. “This play is heating up in the area and we are excited about our extensive acreage holdings.”
